Winter Snippets
Winter has arrived in the mountains of San Diego, ushered in this year by an early winter storm.
Julian doesn’t always have snow, but passing stormy weather systems can bring enough of it to stick around for a few days of enjoyment, turning it into a southern California novelty. This most recent storm we had snow-seekers from Los Angeles come for an overnight stay in the cottage- and it was a lovely one.
As always, we keep the cottage warm and cozy during winter stays. Tight windows and doors, efficient mini-split heating units, with the option of having a fire in the wood-burning stove (a complementary bundle of wood provided!). We also do our very best to keep the hot tub running all through the winter for guest enjoyment.
If you’re planning a snowy trip through the mountains, always remember to bring snow chains for your tires and give yourself plenty of travel time to get to where you’re going. ‘Tis the season for snow in Julian- keep your eye on the forecast and book a cozy cottage stay during the next wintery weather system!
